As I’m not elevating my self-importance by posting weeknotes, I’ve got some points if my narcissism bucket left for following Rubenerd and others blog post challenge (nobody actually challenged me, which would be great if I were a famous 17th century duelist).
Do you floss your teeth? #
I’ve got mouth wash and occasionally use one of these disposable pick-like devices to clean some of the more narrower spots. The latter not often enough.
Tea, coffee, or water? #
Diet coke or coke/lemonade mix.
Footwear preference? #
Socks on carpets. Something with a decent footbed outside of it (I don’t like how most sneakers look, but boots and “proper” menswear shoes are hell on my feet after a while)
Favourite dessert? #
Strawberries with a bit of cream. (I like cake, but it’s not a dessert, goshdarnit, it deserves its own meal)
The first thing you do when you wake up? #
Check the clock if I really need to get up. New feature for this year: Take off my CPAP mask.
Age you’d like to stick at? #
I had a pretty great year when turning 40. Healthy and mentally in a good place.
How many hats do you own? #
Two bad-looking baseball caps, one slightly too small and horribly 90s neon bike cap I inherited from my dad, two felt hats in my old LARP stack.
Describe the last photo you took? #
A swan nesting beside a canal built for kings.
Worst TV show? #
I still feel violated by having to watch the Musikantenstadl in my childhood. But compared to modern reality TV, it’s probably somewhat benign. I’ll probably pick the Jersey Shore here as the harbinger of bringing even more chavs to the media forefront.

I was asked this recently in a Scrum meeting.
Answer: Not someone who participates in scrum meetings. I think I wanted
to be an archeologist for a while, but I think I misunderstood what they
were doing, so the proper pick would’ve been a historian.
